Northfield Area Veterans Memorial

[pic]Courage. Honor. Dedication. Sacrifice.

The Northfield Area Veterans Memorial is a tribute to the men and women of the Northfield area who have served our nation through their military service. In times of war and in times of peace, throughout the history of our nation, and in every branch of the service, our friends, neighbors, and our loved ones have answered the call. We honor these heroes.

An estimated 1,500 people turned out for the formal dedication ceremony in Riverside Lions Park on Veterans Day, Friday, November 11, 2005. It was a beautiful fall day, and the warmth of the weather was matched by the deep feelings of the audience, which gathered to celebrate both the service and sacrifice of the veterans to whom the Memorial is dedicated, and the civic spirit of Northfield that has brought this project to life.

Veteran’s Day ceremony – sponsored by the local American Legion and VFW posts – is set for Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Northfield Area Veterans Memorial (just off Highway 3, near Woodley Street). For more information contact Tom Simota at 651-336-7515.
